Patty has died

Hi there,

My beloved Patty sadly conked out the other day and I'm not entirely sure how to go about fixing her. I know for a fact that the starter motor is badly jammed which might be stopping her from moving, but also that she's only firing on two cylinders.

I'm thinking I might need to suck it up and just replace the engine. Any other ideas would be welcome!

With regards to the engine, does anyone know anywhere I can get both a good reconditioned engine and anyone that will do a good job. I'm based in Croydon (South West London) at the moment but prepared to travel.

Thanks heaps,

Paul

sourcing a recon engine isn't that easy - martin, tim and will on the forum may have an engine available soon - not sure how any of these are running at the moment though.

As for garages for such thing an ad in CVP caught my eye recently "Reflections - restoration specialists for Classic and Sports car... rebuild your vehicle on monthly instalments phone 01403 790 517 based at Slinfold in West Sussex"

That's great - thanks for the heads up on that. If you do happen to hear of any engines coming available I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know.

Thanks again

Before you go ripping the engine out are you sure it is knackered and not just a dodgy dizzy cap or some thing else simple. With a replacement starter motor it may easier to find out what is actually wrong when you are able to spin the engine over :).
