Paralanian ?

Sadly the Parry never made it back to Tydd. I had a call from Posty, who was collecting it, to say it was falling apart as he drove along with it on his trailer, the roof had completely gone as had the rear floor, he thought the best thing was to go and weigh it in as it was clearly unsafe to transport any distance and I could hardly argue with that so as far as I know it met its fate in the crusher yesterday although I cannot get hold of Posty to find out for sure.
Seems like a sad end to a very rare vehicle but I guess it had just sat too long exposed to the elements:(:(
 
Oh No [:0] Even in a derilict state, there must have been saveable bits. I hope he hasn't weighed it in [:(!]

According to Posty it was leaving bits on the road behind him and he had been stopped and warned by plod so it was going to nearest weighbridge, at least that is what I have been told.

Your not kidding! I have lost the purchase price of the camper, posty has probably not covered his time and fuel, I have let him have the scrap money he got as he had the hassle and a rare rare camper is no more but I do not know what else we could have done given the state the vehicle is in, the only safe way way to have got it back here would have been on a covered trailer or transporter and to be honest the cost of that would have made it unviable anyway. No one hates to see a Commer scrapped more than me especially a Parry but there was no other way this time:( I wish I had`nt sold the CI I had now:(:(:(

Yeah mate, sorry you lost your money etc. Some things are just not meant to be eh:( better luck next time. At least we know that rare beauties still exist;)
 
Margaret and i feel sick to the core reading about the parry`s demise thought we might have a friend for mildred.
it would have been nice to see two rare vehicles parked next to each other at some meeting,still we feel so sorry for the lads involved, better luck next time-Denis, Margaret & of course mildred.
 
Thanks for your kind words. I am begining to think that the Parry may not have been scrapped as the chap who was collecting it has not replied to my requests for the certificate of destruction!!! Make of that what you will.
 
I`m starting to get really pissed off about the parry now. It seems it was loaded onto the trailer front end first and then driven off with no cover over the broken windscreen which would have created a wind tunnel and damaged the roof... ie blown it off!! the guy who collected it will not answer emails and seems to have gone to ground....looks like a trip to North Devon to get some answers!;)
 
Could it be - despite all the drama surrounding this - that the Parry still is resting in a yard somewhere - undemolished, in an unknown state, but maybe in a salvageable condition?

If so, a closed transport back to the southeast should be seriously considered, Beachboy.

I hope you will be able to uncover the whole story, and - if for nothing else - put your own mind at rest. Most of us (yourself included) will of course forever lament the demise of the Parry, there is no doubt about that. But if there is a chance of a bird Phoenix resurrection here, that chance should not be missed.
 
Your absolutely right but if its in a yard somewhere then it is now a stolen vehicle that belongs to me!
As the carrier, and I shant name him but Bazz knows who he is;) seems reluctant to reply to emails I shall have to dig a bit deeper and check with the DVLA to see if a COD has been issued and the Devon and Cornwall Police to check and see if he was actually stopped when transporting it as he has claimed! Of course if he got in touch with me the whole matter could be put to bed easily....so why wont he?

I am able to confirm that last visit was 23 july also been in a few times after delivery date,Alarm bell did ring & I wish I had said so but I didn't,here's hoping he comes good [V]
