Painting the rear floor and cab area

Hi Everyone,

Just wondering what type of paints people have used to paint the rear cargo area of their vans?
Also the cab area?

And also, what is the RAL code for the grey paint used in the cab and rear areas??

Thanks and apologies for the noob questions.

Desperate for an answer to the RAL code question if anyone can help?

Otherwise I will have to grab a swatch and attempt to match it.

Cant help with the RAL code but if original it will be a basic commercial under coat, I used Tekaloid coach enamel undercoat and top coat (the garage where I worked used it on the wagons) but I imagine it was originally painted with cellulose.

Thanks Panky, that looks like it may just do the job for me.
Going to grab a colour swatch today and see if I can get a code and maybe something mixed up.

What process did you use for painting on the Tekaloid as far as prep? did you clean and red oxide the floor?

I used it after some major floor repairs. I used Aquasteel on anything that looked remotely like rust then primed repaired areas with brush on primer, then brushed the Tekaloid undercoat the next day. Thinking back I didn't use any top coat as the finish was good enough.

That's absolutely perfect Panky!!! thanks! exactly what I needed to know.
Hard wearing and durable is all I need for now. other priority items to address and fund first, I can chuck a rug in on a floor like that for now :)

I lined it with 12mm ply afterwards before the units went back in, but a rug will do splendidly - maybe your Persian one;)
