Pa or pb

Hi guys n gals,I was wondering what the difference is between a pa and a pb? as according to speedy spares my chassis number indicates that it is a pa?. If you look closely at my picture the front indicators are under the side lights whilst all the other vans I see are on top. Is this significant?

The PA was introduced in 1965 (superceeding the FC series) and had the lozenge grille with the handbrake operating on the rear wheels. The PB came along in 1967 with the separate indicators and side lights and handbrake shifted to the front wheels -what year is yours? If it's late 67 early 68 it could be that chassis numbers where carried over from the PA hence the confusion.

Cheers martin, it's a September 67 and that would explain why the front wheels have jammed up after being stood outside for a decade. I'm still faffing around with the horn set up. It's looking increasingly like the os is going to need considerable panel work and I would love to come and have a look at what you've got, including all your spares if that's ok?

It sounds like as yours was built right on the cross-over, they may have been using parts left over from the PA. Unless there's been repairs done on the front panel - can you see any evidence of this?

It's easy to swap them over, one of my vans is one way and the other is erm, the other:)
