PA or PB

i think that the only difference is that the pb brakes work on the front and the dynamo was ditched and replaced by an altenator. Also a badge change on some vehicles. Does that help at all.

I got Sky today and took her out for a spin. I have most of the booklets that accompany her like the maintenance book, authorised dealers and operators service book. Mine is a deluxe model and has steering lock, cigar lighter. Her model is described as commer haylett olympian caravan conversion [8D]

Hi Debs, can't wait to see the interior :phow was the "spin"?? I find driving "Ran" more like floating [:0]great fun [^] I think another difference is the pa only has one clear indicator or side light on both sides at the front & the upgraded suspension or something on the pb's ??guy's??

The drive was fantastic. "floating" definately. It was the first time i'd driven an old car since i had my 1966 mini over 20 years ago. "Sky" was very understanding. She responded well to me and we paraded around my home town. Loads of people looked at her and I felt so proud to be her new owner. Even managed to reverse her onto my drive - with my car parked next door!!!

So it's elbow grease time and then off to the car shops for lots of "bits n pieces"
My new song im singing: "commer, commer, commer, commer, commer commervan" You commer go, commer goooooo!!!!!
Beats Boy Georges lyrics any day!!! [8D]:D:)

Pa's have no front grille, indicators only on front (side inside headlight) and handbrake on rear axle. Also if you're lucky, long blonde hair and nice legs.:D
See pics of butchers van, 1960.

You make me jealous I have owned my Commer for over a week and have yet to lay eyes on her hoping for the big moment next week. Then its straight off to Shell Island in North Wales big camping place lots of vans of all sorts great fun if sun shines. This my second van the last one I sold twenty years ago adn regretted it ever since. Enjoy.

I'se good thanks, just recovering after watching 'Fonejacker'. Toilet humour I know but it creases me up :D. The Spacevan was a facelift PB, The oily bits stayed the same I think but cab was 'updated' and the plastic grin was born.

Lots of things have been changed on Dotti, the rear lights, one piece rear door and bodywork de-seemed to name a few.

quite well done i like dotty 1...owner wants to change her back...well put chrome etc on bit of a shame imo great candidate for engine upgrade [}:)]

Yeh engine mod would complement the rest of the work nicely but I think Diane and Trevor are getting hot enough in the cab at the mo. Hey Dotti 1 did you get engine cover and steering wheel sorted out.

hi debs - sounds like you have seen the light - welcome to commerville, once visited- never forgotten[^]
