Now this could be a crazy idea but it might also work![?]
I have two indicator switch assemblies, the one on the van now and used for the indicators and a spare. Looking at the steering column set up it seems it might be possible to mount a second stalk 'upside down' below the existing one, complete with cowling. All that is missing is a spacer ring to enlarge the diameter of the column. This would look cool and be period looking. The only problem is the switch is a single pole double throw with centre off[B)] but i think with a little faffing about i could get it to work. Push the stalk up to engage and down to dis engage over drive? Next it will be a flappy padle gearbox[:0][:0]
Any ideas on this, anyone tried it?
The other way to do it that i could see is to mount both stalks almost opposite each other but this would mean modifiying or replacing the cowling. It would potentially look better though. Pix of other peoples overdrive switch setups would really help make a decision on this. Of course the best is the button on the gear lever but i thought i might get it confused with the ejector seat button...
