Hi Guy's

Not been on for quite a while so, Happy New Year, Happy Easter...etc and happy birthday if you've had one in the last 6 months!

Right, I went to drag Wilma out of her winter slumber yesterday, and see wouldn't start. I run her up over the winter from time to time, and she started fine about a month ago.

The battery is charged, but when I pressed her start button.. A loud 'clicking' noise came from under the passenger seat.. (sounded like the solenoid), and then silence...?? Any ideas please?? The battery is charged, but the dashlight does not even light up when I turn the key on.

Thought I would get a few ideas from here first before I fiddle around tomorrow morning.

Hi Ray :) sounds like just a bad connection, try cleaning up the battery terminals/leads and the starter lead ;)

Had exactly the same problem with Harvey for the first couple of weeks out of his slumber. It turned out to be the small single terminal on the solenoid, the spade had corroded. It was a bit awkward to get at but a bit of scraping and tightening of the spade connection did the trick - until the starter packed up:I

i'd say if you had the clicking for a while then stop that its the earth cable somewhere thats not happy.;) good luck:p

Got Wilma a new battery (70AH 700CCA - £48 Exide.. ideal)

She started up no problem.. will take her to Bude tomoz.

had same problem which turned out to be to be the starter motor terminal connection
stripped the starter motor down and replaced the insulater washer which had perished with a self made one, refitted starter, it's been fine since
Touch Wood!!

Chloe's was an intermittent fault at first,
which was a pain in the arse!

But sounds like you have sorted it :)
