Morning everyone, we have spent our first night in it, we have come home early as the weather is so bad and the entrance to the school was so muddy we were worried about getting out. It came out lovely, we are so pleased, still got lots of inside jobs to do and rebuild most of the furniture but this is ok as we can use it whilst doing it.The mot inspestor could not believe the condition of this vehicle, no welding and no sign of needing it, we are taking it to a show sunday if weather is good, we had already booked it in just in case.We will still keep you updated of progress, need to save for paint job next!! Hope to get away in it for a week soon.Let us know when you have a meet if its not right up north we will try to come. Lynne & Gary.

Hi we are going to ufford bygones, which is near woodbridge suffolk, just got the tax disc, being really flash now.

congratulations! especially with all you hard work; now get out there and use it as much as you can :D:D

Hi had a great day today, I drove the commer for the first time today and she drives like a dream, much better than I thought, she had a bit of a polish her windows cleaned and still minus some of the furniture she stood proud in the line of classics and looked good, Gary drove the bubble car and we sat them side by side and they both caused a stir, most people said the could not remember when they had last seen one or do you remember that holiday in one, just great, made it all worth while. Anyway we got a first place for the best car at the show as picked by the children, for the bubble and it was the best event we have been to for interest in both the vehicles. Got another rally next week hope to get it finished for then. We are still looking for an old style table to fit in with it if anybody has an old one they don't want in any condition please think of us. thanks again Gary & Lynne

We were coming to see you at Ufford today, but unfortunately did not quite make it. We made it as far as B&Q in Ipswich and made the mistake of calling in. I then had to come home to fit the trellis, doorhandles and shower! (not all in the same place). [:0]

B&Q vesus Commers - and Commers lost, are you mad [:0];) I would imagine a trellis would be quite dangerous in a shower, used as a shower screen would be totally useless of course :).

I'm forgetting myself:I, congratulations - brilliant job well done and in record time. And a bubble prize as well, all in all it must have been a very satisfying day [^]

Hi we need to choose a stain/ varnish to use in the commer, all the wood has or will be replaced we don't want it to dark but we want it to look good. Has anybody any ideas, I have got some boat varnish and some varnish with a satin finish but they don't seem to do the wood justice, we are open to any ideas please, thanks Gary & Lynne

I would experiment on some off cuts of new wood? with different stains not sure if you can get tester post ? allow them to thoroughly dry Then when you find one you like again experiment with a good quality boat/yacht varnish.patience will pay off! I use to work with wood stains & paint & helping building garden bridges so have some experience with wood.Hope this helps.

Hi yesterday we made the new wardrobe/toilet, its exactly the same as the old one but out of new wood we have taken the door fronts/skins off and put new ones on and tonight Gary is trying to sort the sink-cooker unit out, there was not much left as it had been cut about in previous years but its taking time to get it right. The wardrobe is back in place and the modern porta potti fits in fine, not so sure about me fitting through the door, but sure I will manage when desperate!!! We went to a job today and picked up some off cuts of real oak flooring, think they will look a treat with the sink in until we can find what really should go there and source it.We want to get the cooker sorted by the weekend as we have a couple of rallies and it will be nice to boil the kettle as and when needed. I have taken lots more photos will try to get them on asap, Lynne.
