Our Commer

Thanks for letting us join the forum, I just wanted a commer when i saw one a few years ago and just fell in love, so the hunt began.

Here is our commer which i no a few people arnt too keen on:IBut we love her.

This is what weve been doing

The roof was covered in cord carpet which had been painted green!! so weve stripped out as well as all the cupboards that had been added.
I couldnt do much with the brown cupboards so we decided painting them was the best move.
We have split the two seats so we can have two front facing ones so we can add in a couple of seatbelts for the kids.
we can then just flip over a devide to make them back into long seats.
Ive covered the cushions with red leatherette, too which was quite easy, weve covered the floor in vynal floor tiles from the £1 shop just for now till we can find the ones i want.
We have started on the outside which is also looking alot better.

Hey there, welcome along A Commer is Commer whatever it looks like, it's about the personal touch that matters. Doesn't matter what you've got, just that you want one is good enough for folk here I was on my way to view another Commer in Essex when i spotted this one on my travels...I met the guy and took piccies of it to put it up for sale here for the chap, nice bloke too. I think he sold it on to a garage in the end??? Loving what you have done to it already, looks much better already.[^]

That's quite a transformation you've carried out[8D]
I think the only reason your van got a bit of bad press a while ago was because the original sellers aspirations to what it was worth didn't quite match reality and it all kicked off a bit. She's a bit different but that's what we're all about - different is good[^]

I suspect that your van started life as a Wanderer and suffered the dreaded Wanderer roof rot, so had the roof replaced with a hightop from an old ambulance. I think it suits the van very well, and the work to the interior is looking good. How are you going to finish the inside of the roof?

We have bought some car headliner off ebay in cream which we are half way through putting up.
It looks 100% better already

Thanks everyone for being so kind and friendly, we will hopefully get to meet some of you around, we may not be ready for the wales meet, which is a shame, but will hopefully be ready soon if we pull our fingers out.

We live in SE Hants so if anyone does anything locally for now we would love to join in.
