Didn't matter where I was on the farm (at Sedbergh) I could call for Charlie and he would turn up and I would tell him to get by the wall and then I'd climb on his back and tell him to take me home and away we'd go. I haven't found a camper van that will do that. Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh memories, aren't they great

I wonder how long before we
go back to horse power
what with the cost of fuel

Have a look at the picture of Charlie and me and tell me, hand on heart, that you couldn't fall in love with either the horse or the scruffy lad on his back

Hand on heart..........I really couldn't.....1/ I'm straight and 2/ I don't like horses/ponies, they scare the carp out of me......animals have this sixth sense and can tell if you are nervous and take advantage of that!!

All you have to do is march up to them and show them who's boss and if that doesn't work, run like hell

An ex of mine worked on a farm looking after the horses/ponies and sometimes I would go and help out and go get them in from the field....I used to hate it, one or two of them liked me but the rest used to charge at me untill the last second and then veere off .....

If this is what a commer meet is like then I know I'm gonna enjoy it, if I get my van back from Mr M.

Mr M is a diamond (did i spell diamond right?) and the wait will be MORE than worth the wait[8D] .......Commer meets are a coming together of like minded people that share a COMMERn interest, they are so laid back, chilled and welcoming, they are impossible to dislike......there are people from ALL walks of life but I will G/tee this>>>>>>>>>> you will get a warm welcome, nobody will judge you and you will go home knowing you have many new friends that you feel you have known for years:D[8D]

I saw Mr M. and a couple of vans he had restored at Haworth show and talked to one of the owners, who told me that Mr M did a good job but he wasn't cheap and I suppose I decided I didn't want a cheap job doing. I know that I was ripped off by the bloke I bought the van off as his advert painted such a rosy picture of it and I did what I tell all the young ones not to do. "never buy a vehicle off ebay without going to see it first" the only problem was that I was desperate for one and they don't come on the market all that often, so I bought it and had it taken on a load loader to Mr M's for full resto.

You may wait a while but as the saying goes ''all good things come to he who waits'' ....Nothing is cheap and mostly you will get what you pay for! ..........at the end of the day what else would you get for your money instead??? a brand new Korean eco car? whoopee! that will depreciate quicker than a melting ice cream in the sun lol

Funnily enough I,ve just been to have a look at Martins web site http://www.yorkshireclassiccampers.co.uk/ and it says that the account is suspended. I think one of us should let Martin know in the morning, do you want to do it or should I.
