Opinions on towing

Ha Ha Ha Ha, you're such a joker:D
It would probably do it just not very fast - and you might struggle a bit up those hills by you:eek:
We had a couple of vans towing small camping trailers at Commerfest, no idea how much they weighed but they seemed to cope OK.

well at least I started your day with a laugh!

Hope all had fun at Commer Fest, looked great. Sorry I missed it but Charlies guts are all hanging out with a refit going on in the back :(

Someone tows their little car on a trailer behind their highwayman?

That's my plan - tow a smart roadster on an a frame. They come in under 800Kg.

As a comparison I took Ted the traveller for MOT this morning and the brake tester showed it weighed 930 kg with full tank of fuel and a tester on board, s0 would probably come in about the same as the Smart with an A frame. It's certainly possible but you would need to fit a remote system to operated the brakes on the Smart.

Possible you say - that's enough of a green light for me... been looking for an excuse to get a silly hair dresser car :)

I tow a 400kg trailer does ok, but would not consider much bigger as engine starts to get warm on hills.Plus the old bird bounces a bit and loves the corners and stopping.

Once you get moving they tow fine. It's just the getting it moving bit from a stand still that's tricky lol

I can stop ok in mine it's got the bigger dodge drums. Another one I would say is check the max train weight on your van as some were only light duty and some were the 2500 heavy duty van.
