Hey new on here. I was on the retro rides forum and in a round about way found this site. That Van (YLY 555S) used to be mine around ten years ago and funnily enough I had forgotten all about it till the other sunday when I saw it at the NSRA supernationals. Made me really miss the old dog Im into hot rods now( i was in my teens when I owned the van) but I kinda miss the the excitment of taking a corner at 45 MPH and not knowing if you'll make it out the other side. I remember my ex hitting the brakes on a dual carrage way. The back end of the van came off the ground span round 90 degrees and landed her across both lanes. I would love to here from the current owners and what happened to the flouresent yellow interior my ex stitched up?

Sounds like an interesting motoring moment - an exciting few minutes I would imagine[:0] know what you mean about cornering, it's the most fun you can have at 45mph.
I would like to join the queue of folks wondering where the heck you're finding all these panels TVM[:0] have you found an abandoned panel mine somewhere[?]

Admin as far as I can tell its Transitvanman. On more thorough reading it appears he is in Essex which is a bit freaky as thats where I live now but I lived in Swanage in Dorset when I owned that van. I sold it to a guy in london who ragged it on the way home after I told him to take it easy as we had just ground in a new exhaust valve. I remember taking that old van everywhere filled with mountain bikes and windsurfing kit. Got it stuck in the mud at Glastonbury one year.

hi rottencorsair yes it is mine YLY555S did you sell it to a bloke called john? cant see any yellow in the back but i rember the bloke saying that it was paneled out in the back and he dident like it i only live 5 mins from area essex where you see it i also use it to take my and my girls mountain bike about got any photos???
