You jammy sod where did you get them from[:0][:0]Im so desparate for a pair of these for my panel van will do you a deal for a corner and some cash;);):D:D Im in the process of getting a pair of rollers machined to the right profile so i can roll a full side sill out but original would be fantastic!In my dreams! Good luck with fitting them your vans looking good[8D][8D];)
 
or you could give me a ring, after all thats what coventry commers was set up for, to help you enthusiasts out with those hard to find bits. or should i just close it down.[?]

anyway whats happened about this other guy who can make them cheaper, transitvanman, i wouldnt mind his number to see if he would like some work from me. he might be just the ticket ive been looking for.;)

Dock the prices a bit and you may get some custom 1500 quid to re pannel the bottom half of your commer is some serious wedge i wouldnt cost that for a split screen vw and there fetching up to 20grand!;);):)
 
Question is woolfy whats the chances of getting a hold of a front panel for a PB?? Or are they obselete or hard to make???

if you knew anything about restoring old vehicles jon you would know that nine times out of ten you never get back what you put in in the first place. unless its something special, secondly the vw s are just as expensive to restore but because there is a much bigger following the demand for the panels is greater, so if you can sell more panels it would pay to have a proper pressing made up for each individual panel, ive looked into this and the costs are frightening, £3000.00 to make the tooling or pressing plates ,then you have a machine setting up cost of $400.00. and then you have to have a minimum run of 100 panels pressed @ £65.00 per panel, this amounts to £10.000+vat and thats for one individual panel, and just incase you didnt know theres about twenty different panels on the commer pb. you can work the rest out yourself. or are (you) going to splash out and make them all?. since the introduction of my panels the cost of the commers has risen also , they are no longer fetching £200.00 but more like £2000.00 and upwards.the panels cost money because of the man hours it takes to produce them by hand.;)
 
You are not wrong - and there are people who will always need your services. But it is the nature of our 'hobby' that many of us will have a go at making stuff ourselves, we just like the challenge of creating something. There is plenty of room for everyone, after all there are still some people making their own darkside panels and they are cheap as chips (comparatively) but the resourceful will always have a go. Keep it up woolfy there is a need for your services, there is no doubt about that, but some would rather use their own time and skills rather than pay for yours, nowt wrong with that :).
