Hi chapsI think you guys are using the same engine as I've got in the Super Vista ...a Vogue or Hunter one.

The heater matrix isn't connected as the water pump that the piping came off had to be changed so it didn't foul the radiator. Was wondering whether it would be best to just add some T pieces into the cooling system silicone and run pipes to the matrix. Not sure if would get a good flow through it though.

Or

Swap in an electric fan in front of the radiator and put on an original water pump that (I think) has the metal mouldings to run piping to the matrix. Not sure here whether it would still be too long though without a fan on.

So was wondering how you managed to get round the issue if you had it too.

Probably going annoy people on here as can see a few questions coming up over the next 2-3 months

Hi Jim, the simplest way would be to remove the blanking plug in the head and fit a tap ah la Commer engine to get a feed to the heater, the Commer water pump should have a connection for the return. I completely re-plumbed mine with an electric water pump and made a thermostat housing up with connections for heater take-off and fan thermostat, but like I said going back to how the Commer heater is piped in is the easiest option.

There should be a screwed plug in the hole, in the middle on top of the head on the carb side. If you're lucky it will screw out without too much trouble:I I'm pretty sure it's 1/2" BSP pipe thread so you can get the fittings you need from a plumbers merchant.

Panky is right with what he is saying about heater take off but some heads didnt have the blanking plug they were left un drilled like this one

Have a look and report back as you could use T conectors in the hoses we had a special one made up for rich's comps van holbay.Just have to make sure you get the flow right from the water pump

Thanks again, at the van on Sunday to start planning some bits and will take a good look. The correct flow is my worry. I know someone whos done it before and got next to zero flow. I'll let you know how it goes...thanks for the pic Jon - much apprieciated.

Take the feed from the head, and put the return on the suction side of the water pump and it will be fine
You could fit a T-piece in the bottom rad hose for the return.

if you change the water pump you have to change the thermostat housing as well.
