back up in the big River area of N S W and as always some Australian wants to talk about their adventures in the 70 ,s from UK to Europe in a Commer .There must have been a lot of them sold outside Australia House . Also I have now done 52000 miles in the van since Resto and the battery box has taken a pounding , it did not look good when I Bought the van and with our roads and it's proximity to the road , not good ,I did put straps from the bottom of the box to the floor but it is moving closer to the wheel

Hi thommo and thanks for sharing, I love to follow your continuing adventures:cool:
Is there enough room behind the passenger seat for the battery? that's where the original position was when the van's were built.

The box is still there ,I thought Auto Sleeper may have put the other box in front of the left hand wheel.

Yes that's where the battery box is on mine, under the left hand cab floor. Where is yours positioned?
Love those wheels:cool:

Great to hear from you thommo - it's 14yrs Wednesday since I met you at the show in Sydney!

Same as mine then and yes pretty vulnerable. There's another box on mine under the floor in the left hand bench in the back, that holds the gas bottle, but it could be adapted for a battery.

My battery is in box under floor bench seat lhs. I’ve not noticed a box under passenger foot well. Gas bottle behind lhs quarter light.
