Hi we are back, sorry to anybody who has tried to contact us but we have had no computer, it broke big time and we did not even know our password to get back on here!!! had to get help from admin!! and martin thanks, we are now on some old computer that just about works. OKU is going well but does not like very long journeys, after about 10 miles its hard to keep it going and it gets choked up but if you leave it for a little while you can get back on your way.Its backfiring a bit as well. We are going to felixstow in it over the weekend so we will let you know how we get on. Gary is only just recovering from his fall down the pit so we have done know more than we have previously told you but it has not stopped us using it. Flood repair has also taken priority but now we must get back on the case and get the paint done. Hope everybody is ok and all your vehicles are running well, we will catch up on all the news by reading the latest chat, Gary Lynne & Brad

Hi when is the new forest meet, how long will it take if we had to stop every 10 miles for 10 mins, only joking hope a new carb or cleaning the fuel tank might help. any ideas anybody please?
 
It does sound like the age old Commer fuel crisis. The paint lining of the tank disintegrates and plays havoc with the fuel lines. Have you found anything in the fuel filter resembling snakeskin? that is how Andyzarse described the debris from the tank he found in his fuel lines.

Hi the fuel filter is clean but the fuel gauge does not work so we guesstimate by putting in more fuel than we need each time we go out.

Hi, try insulating the fuel pipe which runs nearest to the engine, after 10 miles the engine would get very hot in such a confind space & fuel vaporisation was a common problem on a lot of classic vehicles especially in the warmer months, my ford consul 375 used to be prone to this until i re-routed the fuel line.

I was in Camping & General at Canvey Island last weekend and they had two styles of drop down table leg available. One was in the form a bent rod with a flat section at the bottom where it rests on the floor, i.e. down from the table, across the floor and back up again, and the other was a heavier bow section welded affair. Both were of the type which fit to the underside of the table with a hinge so that they can lie flat against the table or drop down to form the leg and in both cases, you only need one leg for each end of the table.

They are not an exact match for the original, but the bent rod version looked similar to that which was on our 1967 Wanderer, which was also a Bluebird conversion (that table only had a leg at one end, the other end attaching to the wooden bulhead by a pair of plastic clips).

Not sure if it is what you are looking for, but thought you might be interested.

Glad to hear that you are ok. I was having problems with back firing and it seams to have been two problems, one was ignition (I have fitted an electronic distributof) helps with running (and execlirates quick :D )fuel consumpsion petrol and lpg has improved. and the other problem is where the exhaust joins the manifold when it is tight she does not back fire but as soon as it gets loose again backfiring :( I hope this helps but dont forget to re-route the petrol pipe
