Hi all
I've been a bit quiet lately as tied up with house move.
Anyone any idea what grade of oil to use in gearbox (my old manual says Shell Super, but I can't find equivalent). Also I see there are bronze parts in the gearbox so presumably EP oils are no good?

Recommendation for engine oil in Perkins diesel would also be helpful.

I use 15/40 mineral in the Perkins.

General concensus amongst the perkins owning fraternity on the web seems to be that it's not so much which oil you use but that it should be changed regularly that's important. Perkins 4108 manual says 15/40 (amongst others) changed every 4000miles.

Perkins 4108 service manuals are freely available to download. Can't remember where I found mine.
