Oil Leak

Hello,
I've just whipped the engine out of the van to track down a serious oil leak and when I took off the 'box, the camshaft sealing disc dropped out!

I need to take a good look at what's going on, but I presume this could have been what was causing the oil to not stay in the engine? is it straightforward sticking one back in, and what else should I be looking for to stop the oil falling out?

any help gratefully appreciated!

cheers

Rupert

Funnily enough we had exactly this problem with Tigger last week [xx(] We turned it around so the convex side was facing outwards and whacked it in flat with a big socket, then put a bit of sealer round it :)

cool thanks Tim. mine was sloshing around next to the flywheel for a while by the looks of it so I'll order another from Speedies. Just to be clear, it will be leaking oil too won't it? hopefully I haven't caused any damage [V]

I could not of put it better Tim[8D] ......Tigger had been leaking oil for some time previously....so far, so good! ...I crawled under the other day and he is bone dry! ...the core plug sure makes a racket when it drops don't it! ;)

Had an 'issue' when I was fitting new core plugs to Harvey and mistakenly prised the camshaft welsh plug out as well:I Did the same as Tim and Colin - no problems since:)
