No spark, voltage drop at coil

It's time to start the new engine....it turns over! No spark!

After checking the voltage to the coil, this drops from 12 to 0 V when the engine turns over. The electric pump stops working when the engine turns over too, as do the window wipers! I have removed the white wire to the coil and checked the voltage here. This drops to 0 too....any tips for me?

Agree with Martin but have you connected the engine earth strap securely[?]

New earth strap fitted...dodgy ignition switch...needs a wiggle and you get a spark! Several puffs and bangs but no vroom vroom yet...time to reset the dizzy

Living in nottingham every time it goes bang the neighbors think there is a gun battle going on...I shall stop for the night.

No keep going, the gun battles will drown out your efforts:)

By-pass the switch to see if runs, then you can rule it out :)
