That reminds me of a mate of mine who studied in Coventry for a few years. One day he was walking down to the corner shop, he heard an almighty smash. Turned out to be a car transporter just been to Browns Lane picking up 6 examples of the then brand new Jaguar XK. The lorry took a sharpish turn too fast, toppled over - and all six jags were smashed to pieces.

My mate later learned that they were all special press vehicles which were to be shown to the press for the first time, introducing them to the vehicle.

Imagine being the truck driver having to make that phone call.. "Um, I'm afraid I've got some bad news .. "

my dad had an imp - black with big disney characters on the bonnet and doors, used to pick us up from infant school in it - the other kids were dead jealous - shame he never bothered to get a licence
