Nice non-Commer

Andy and I took the Imps down to Classic Car night at the Ace Cafe last night. Saw this nice little camper:

Should've taken more pics. It has the double barn doors on the side and also at the back. 'Kitchen runs across behind the front seats and the rest is bench seats/table/double bed. Pretty good layout actually, big space for the bed.

Unfortunately the pop top is too small and still not high enough for me. I'll eventually go back to a Highwayman.

Looks like Fiat's answer to the Commer, the 238, even the engine is in the right place.

There are coachbuilts around y'know;)

Lovely italian there :p

I saw one of these for sale near Rome - on www.autoscout.it - about two years ago, but that's the only one I've seen previously. This being a left-hooker, could it be the same one, maybe, imported?

Have come across some (mostly well rotten) panel vans and pickups on the same website occasionally. But these rot like nothing else, I believe, so can't be many still around. Remember them well when I was a kid, but after a few years the all seemed to have disappeared. But lovely and charming they are, and this one seems to be in superb condition.
