Nice Commer project on ebay

£1,371.00 Seems like a good price (for my inexperienced eye...). Although without having seen the van, difficult to judge in my opinion. Damn, not being able to bid comfortably is stressful. Will I ever find a Commer!? :(

If you really want a Commer you are going to have either be brave and bid blind or put some miles in and go and look when they appear on Ebay. If you dont like the idea of bidding on Ebay there are always Commer`s for sale that you can go and see at your leisure, Martin has a very very nice CI for sale, Woolfy has a superb panel van and I have a 1961 Moto-Plus, so there are 3 vans that are available straight away.
The Commer Autosleeper that just sold was a very fair price for an Mot`d, taxed and running van, just as we discussed earlier in this thread.
Get out there and buy a van! :D:Dquote:

Bloody Commer`s!

Definitely vouch for getting out there and having a look at a few. I was looking on and off for five and a half years or more. Definitely remember being outbid on a Suntor back in 2007 and I know I wanted one before that. It's taken that long to getting around to having one.

Not saying you need to wait that long or spend that long looking. My circumstances have been very changeable, moving every 18 months or so. But you definitely need to put legwork in to go look, or take a chance and buy blind if you feel a deal is good enough. Don't go silly though. If you can't afford to loose what you're bidding blind, then don't bid.

Equally don't rush. If the first one you see looks, feels and drives right then don't ignore it just cos it is the first one, but don't buy it just because it is the first one either. Remain a little sensible and look at it for what it is and what it needs.

Essentially a mint Commer isn't going to pop up next door for a song. You need to go find what you want. Be it a minter, a project, or a usable example. If you're after a bargain you're going to have to earn it either by looking harder, travelling, or both!

In answer to your question though, I'm sure you will get one. Just keep the faith! [8D]

I decided not to bid at thelast minute, as I was worried re the work required, but the price was fair enough. I too will keep the faith and start to go and see a few. Good luck to whoever bought the van in Bristol and thanks for all the advice placed on this thread and by text etc. Hamster
