hi there, well i joined this site last year after seeing a commer on the retro rides site that had been lowered,( also on this site as well i think ) and i must say i was hooked straight away :D

ive been in the vdub scene on and off for a long time and had to sell our split about 4 years ago,which i loved to bits,but highly over priced for what you get !! ;)

i had a commer in the late 80's to tow my newly started jacket spud buisness,although at the time i hated it,but it got me started, and now here i am dying to get hold of one as think thet just look the dogs dagglies ! :D

anyway, just thought i'd say hello and im on the lookout for our next project,(funds very low unfortumatly so might be starting with a rolling shell :( )

oh, and i showed the missis what project i'd like to do next and she didnt mind !! GREEN LIGHT ! ) LOL

thanks chaps, funny you should mention ebay, i did look at that and love it, but even at the price its at now,is still way out of my league,( missis,and 3 young boys to contend with ! lol )
although there is a rolling shell on there at the mo which i put the starting bid in, but tbh, im not sure what its likely to fetch, being new to all this, but its ideal for what i would like to do as i would want to put a more modern engine and auto box in,( again new to this so not sure yet on space etc in the engine bay compartment ) as it will have to tow a caravan as well .

there's still a couple of days left so we shall see.

theres all the info you could need on here re engine swaps etc...Admins van even has a Rover V8...just do not go for a ford pinto[xx(]

Nice to get another Vw fan getting a Commer ! That was my Commer on retrorides but had a load of hastle on that website about how it was lowered ! It was fine i had no problem with driving it or mots to many know it alls ! Look forward of pictures when you find one . Good luck

Cant remember whos van it is, but reg is HUT, hasnt that one been lowered too, see if i can find a pic

This the one ive got at the moment just dropped the front and lower profile at the back and 185/55/15 at the front..

Gatt has a chap contacted you about meeting up ? he too has a car camper if not I could arrange for you both to visit at the same time :D his car camper is on an austin iirc :I

I don't think he has found his way here yet,I did give him instructions,met him last weekend at the BMC do he was very keen to meet you & see your van,I went over to look at the caravans but didn't get any further than the car camper,I saw its roof looked it over muttered car camper my finger slid over its body to the open rear door where it had a sticker with Car Camper I looked down & saw the same flooring as yours,got chatting for a bit too long :I before I knew it the field was nearly empty & he had demonstrated his interior :D
would be nice to see them together you could also meet the dodgy slider & The Colonel.
