Newbie!

Hi guys and girls. Just inherited my dads old commer camper, its a 1964 paralanian but been off the road for some years due to dads ill health, he sadly wont be driving again. I have looked on here and seen there are a couple of guys doing panels and parts but im struggling for some interior bits and bobs. Does anyone know of anyone who has broken a paralanian or has some interior cabinets for one? The interior on mine has suffered a leaky roof and damaged the wood cabinets. I live near Glastonbury but will happily travel anywhere if someone can help. Thanks

hi cant help with the bits you want:( but welcome to the madhouse:D

Paralanian :p There is only one other known (Mildred), we restored the rear body last year and it's coming back soon for the cab doing. There was another sold on ebay recently, but that went straight to the scrapyard [:(!] but that's another story.
They are very susceptable to the roof leaking, as it has a fabric roof. We have just replaced the other one, with a fibre glass roof.

I doubt very much you will find any genuine cupboards, but they can be repaired/re-manufactured.

Good luck with the van and welcome

Wow! Is that we are going to be faced with? It does not look anything like as bad as that one, dad had a cover over it for years but the damp has still got in but the roof actually looks quite good. Which scrapyard did the other camper go to? do they still have it? Thanks for your help by the way!

Have you got a camera phone could send to one of us?
Really easy once you have done it :D

If it did go to the scrappers, it would be in Devon somewhere [V]

Mildred looked very nice, but Dennis knew he had water problems, it wasn't till we stripped her, that we found the extent of the damage [B)]

Welcome to the Madhouse - come to the Welsh Commer Weekend (see events and meets section) and meet some real weirdos! You'll also see a selection of Commers, you don't need a Commer to attend either!

Hi again. Thanks for the kind words of welcome and encouragement, it seems we might need them! Does anyone know if this camper did get broken at a scrapyard, someone must know?....seems like a sorry tale reading the topic, but if it is in devon its not far from here. We are planning to put the Paralanian on the road for the summer, it does drive and everything works but needs the camper section sorting, I would like to find some original cabinets but realise its like searching for a needle in a haystack but hey thats part of the fun and hubby likes a challenge...thats why he married me, his words not mine ha haquote:

We're a relatively small group compared to others but as they say, all good things come in small packages!
