Newbie...Just bought 'nelly'

Hi all, my names Jamie and i'm based down in Swindon. Just over a week ago I popped into my local pub for a quick couple of pints, i woke the next morning with a very sore head and the keys for nelly!!!
She is a 1974 pb camper and I am already very fond of her, will try and get you some pics soon. She has been stood for about 18 months now, since the last MOT failure, I have a copy and nothing too drastic although probably a little more welding now. Generally seems a very solid little van. Genuine 54k on the clock. She was running fine before being parked up, so hopefully a charged/new battery and i can get her started. Anything i should do before trying her guys and or gals???

Ps I never new what a commer looked like until after i'd bought nelly and now love em! How very cool they are!

Hello Jamie,welcome to the mad house,great aren't they [8D] check shes not in gear when you first try to start her up :D maybe some fresh fuel,the clutch maybe stuck after 18 mths,stick her in gear before you start her use the clutch on starting oh & that will cost PIC,S :p

Well peeps have managed to get young nelly home, she looking a little sad but a good clean up and i reckon she'll be looking like a new van (wishfull thinking i know). Will get some pics up soon (attempt to at least).
