Hi, let me introduce myself. I'm Chris and although I don't own a Commer I have many fond memories of long holidays in our 1967 primrose yellow Commer Wanderer reg. no. JKT 661E which my father bought when it was 6 months old for about £800. As a family of five we discovered the world in it (well the Yorkshire Dales, Wales, Scotland and northern Europe). Even in those days I remember that when we travelled through Europe it turned heads as there were very few to be seen on the continent. The van was sold to a friend in 1971 and I last saw it in the early 80's looking very forlorn in a communal parking area in Basildon, Essex. I doubt very much whether she survived much longer.
I am unlikely to own a Commer myself for the foreseable future as I am mid-way through the ground up restoration of a 1972 Renault 17TS and have another rough but original R17 in my driveway. My wife is not particularly impressed with this second vehicle (although she insists that when I do sell it, it goes for restoration and not is not broken for spares. So, for the meantime I will satisfy myself admiring the pictures of your vans.
