High compression definitely. Remember these are just block, crank, rods and pistons - no camshaft, head, pushrods, timing gear, flywheel, covers or oil pump. It would be worth checking that camshaft bearings are already fitted. The good news is you could fit the alloy head and cam from a Rapier engine[8D]

I have a 1974 commer wandered , think its a 1795 petrol would this be low compression,would it make much difference putting a new high compression lump in it. Would I be able to use the original camshaft, head, pushrods, timing gear, flywheel covers and oil pump.

Your engine is most probably a HC engine anyway. Everything would be a straight swap onto the new block but it would be a sensible precaution to fit a new oil pump and overhaul the head. Are there any problems with your original engine?
