Hi, I'm new to the forum, trying to get into the Commer scene.... but first I need a Commer!! Owned a LT28 before and now have a reliable but boring bongo! Really need a camper with personality... Bongo has to go!!!! Have enjoyed reading the 'chat' and found comments posted in the classified topics really helpful - you seem a friendly bunch, so just posting a getting started hello, Rachel

Hi Rachel and welcome to the Madhouse:D[8D]...no idea what your budget or indeed taste in a Commer would be but the supervista that steve Williams is selling would be an excellent buy[8D] best of luck with your search;)

Thank you for the warm welcome, I've posted a comment in the classified re: Babs..... not sure how all this works, finding my way round the site! Took a look at Steve Williams, looks like a great buy, but not sure about the front grill / lights..... is this what makes it a supervista? I have a lot to learn about Commers! Rachel
 
no, supervista relates to the design of the interior (which is missing) ....the wrap around front means it is really a Dodge spacevan....still a commer though. they were badged as Commer until chrysler took over and they made subtle changes, initially just the badges (see my van Tigger, he is badged a Dodge) then later they tried to improve the looks by giving them a facelift just like Steve's van...:)

hello Rachel and welcome to this nut house. Just remember that you have to be partly barmy to want a commer/dodge.
 
Lol....I should fit in well then!!:) Just can't wait to find 'the one'....... tell me, (here comes a daft question!) when you purchase a Commer, is it the done thing in the commer world to retain the vehicle's name / is it frowned upon to give a commer a new name / identity?? :)
 
well, Rachel, when you get your van...just remember it will now be yours to whatever you wish with and call it whatever you want[8D] nobody here will frown at you:D ...its just to see another commer/Dodge being loved and being used, whatever its name or looks etc....The only thing you might get nagged about is posting plenty of pictures...we do like a picture or two:):p:) And please don't worry how daft a question may seem to you, theres always someone comes along to answer:) When we first came along, I'm sure we had dozens of seemingly daft questions:)

welcome and good luck x i re-named my commer, her names dolly. changing names is fine. the guy i got her from DID'NT ever name her. just called her "the commer". evan thought i was batty when i asked if she had a name. some people eh lol lol

Yes mine was the same, no name at all and I have no idea why but she is going to be called Lulu, but it's true if she has a name and you don't like it it's OK to rename her so long as you don't forget to wet her head.quote:

Hi, down in Plymouth, great part of the country, dartmoor and the coast nearby :) Never seen a commer on the road down in this neck of the woods.... hopefully soon to change that!!:):)
