New Commer Purchase, Best money ever spent

I love the idea of pylons as garden furniture. The cab/bunks are pretty hard to come by Tim, i've been looking for a fair while now and haven't seen one around as yet. I'm thinking of just making one to be honest (Can't be that hard) in terms of wether it will be of any use is debatable i guess. I'd use it as extra storage is all i.e when the bed is up there is very little room in the van so everything would come off the floor and put on the spare hammock

Thought i had seem a cool Commer with a cab bunk, have been searching through the site and found it. The member is CEMTASTIC white commer parked beside converted army camper (first outing, i think was the title). Maybe that nice person would take some internal pics of the bunk and the attachment points in their van and post them here along with dimensions. That would be most appreciated. Go on CEMTASTIC please, please, please. Nice Commer by the way, who did the rebuild for you ?.
Hi Tim, welcome along. Take a peak at my Commer (Tulip) in the Reader's Rides section as there's a couple of pics of my front bunk brackets. Don't know if you're already aware, but your front seats (if like mine) will 'up and over' forward then lie flat - probably much comfier than the bunk which you can also put above, but only for short @r5es.
Hi Ray, that would be great looking forward to seeing the pics of the home made brackets you made. I think the idea of using it for storage while the bed is out would be the main reason for having one, though after my recent news might be usefull for a little mini me as well.
Im sure that most of you are really excited about comerfest now, I would love to be coming since its going to be such a momentous event. Ill just have to wait till next time, one of those things i guess.

John, I will take your word for it.
My last experience of driving Cecil was a test drive which i kept forgetting to cancel the indicators, so used to driving newer cars now that cancel themselves or only flash a few times. The brakes, well im sure you already about Commer brakes, NO BRAKES.
Promised myself for self preservation reasons that i would not drive Cecil until he was fully restored.

Mine has a bench seat and a hammock - it ends up as a kind of bunk bed affair and only really any good for kids (although the brochure I have says the bench seat is 6" diagonally, but not sure would like to sleap on it). Hadn't thought of using it for storage - I have just been chucking stuff on the front seat, but I will be changing the bench seat for the standard seats out of the Spacevan I have just bought so its a nice idea.
I'm planning on doing some work on the old girl at the weekend (Commerfest is just too far:-() so will try and take some pics when she is out of the garage. But basically it is two metal poles that go through the fabric and sit in four cups that are attached behind the grab handles on the screen pillars and where the seatbelt top mounting is.
