Need Distributor Cap & Rotor for 1972 Commer PB (1725)

Hi everyone,

I’ve got a 1972 Commer PB Highwayman with the 1725 engine and I’m trying to get hold of a distributor cap and rotor arm for it.
Not totally sure which ones I need, so if anyone knows what fits, or has spares for sale, I’d really appreciate the help.

There were a couple of dizzies fitted to the Commer so we'll need to identify which one you have. It could be either a Lucas 45 D4 or 25 D. If it's a 25 then there's a stamp on the upper face of the dizzy body under the cap. The 45 has quite short cap clips and has a more squared off body than the 25 whereas the clips on the 25 are a lot longer. Yes photos would help

Just as an update it was the Lucas 25 D4 many thanks for your help. My mechanic says since I'm getting the shoes re-lined it would be a good idea to fit a new 'drive shaft oil seal', not sure where to get one for my model so if anyone could make any recommendations as to compatible parts I would appreciate it.

After a bit of Googling the seal is part No 9102121 which also fits the Humber Hawk and Supersnipe.
This is the one I found but in the USA but it gives the size.
According to that site the measurements are 1.75" x 2.5" x .375"

Please note I'm going by the part number in the Commer parts list and this is what came up I have no personal experience of buying one but I'm 99% sure it's correct

Hi, I have a distributor cap & rotor arm for a commer pb van 1725cc it was in my camper van & I exchanged it for an electronic one, they are in very good condition and if you send me your address I’ll send them to you for free. Best regards Tim. House.
