My van won't start...

I'm pretty sure it's because I don't have one yet, a van that is.

... but starting trouble advice welcome in advance.

You may not have a charged battery in it either? The fuel may have evaporated if the missing engine is hot (vapour lock)

Thanks for the replies fellas... very helpful.

I did put petrol in it and I must say its been very frugal... doesn't appear to have used any at all so far.

I imagine the battery is well charged... can't actually check it right now so will continue to imagine.

The vapour lock theory sounds plausible, I've not had it running but its quite warm here today. I'll perhaps look into investing in a hand fuel primer inline and maybe an electric fan.

(and hopefully a non imaginary van to put them in)

As you may not have any exhaust wrap you can't wrap the manifold in it. Have heard of snake skin which is rust from tank clogging pump so some put another in line filter in pipe (not in engine bay or vapour lock again) but you won't have any rust either

You may have not bought a Van that's may or may not have an engine, so it's possible that it wont start because the engine bay, that isn't there, has at some point in the past of future had it's beating heart removed - or not.

What's shaped like a bunloaf and is invisible - no Commers;)

How strange you should say that, my missus tells me my Commer looks like an invisible bunloaf.

Fuel filter added to shopping list.
