Excellent choices; I'd struggle choosing between either option! I do have a soft spot for chrome and whitewalls personally, but it's good to be different too and them alloys look a bit special :p

If room permits, banded steels at the rear would look awesome - I might consider it myself some point in the future.

Are the whitewalls painted on or the sort that tuck under the rim when the boot is deflated?
If the latter type - are you happy with them?

Jules they are the flappy ones. I was dubious about them when I put them on, but they have been there for over a year without any problems so far...

I'm a little nervous about the front as they are more likely to come into contact with kerbs etc.

I'd prefer proper ones but I just can't afford them! (do you know of someone who wants a set testing on a Commer ;) )

New gearbox in and seems to be working well now, no hot wires under the dash and a thermostatically controlled fan!

I'm out of practice! 3 hrs to remove the 9" prop!!! had a temporary fix with the new gearbox; making it permanent now!
