My sump doesn't fit

I'm converting my van to a holbay engine and I've hit a problem. 2 of the sump bolts don't line up. It's a 1500 sump I'm using, is the 1725 one different?

Yes, they changed the bolt pattern around '71-'72.

Ah balls, don't suppose you have a sump that fits do you Martin?

I'm not 100% sure of the bolt pattern on the Holbay. May also depend on the engine year as well.

Before you do make sure the bearing caps are the same, where the cork seal fits.

Balls, it's more than a couple of holes that're out. New sump needed. I'm after a new sump to fit my engine. The gasket I used is for an alpine, rapier etc and fits the block nicely. I may have to pop over sometime Martin, if you have any later commer sumps handy?

It'll be easier to get my holbay sump modified to fit my crossmember.

This thread may be of interest. Jules doesn't mention any problems with the sump so I assume he fitted a Commer one.
