My Ride

If only I had an unleaded head of my own to run smoothly what joy it would bring to my life [V]. Have to make do with the stage 3 head and twin carbs I'm slapping on the Mini :D.
 
that'll do the trick my Mini ant ready for engine yet. I've welded the whole thing up until I got to the front,(gonna be metal flip front) Then I spotted my Commer on ebay and haven't touched it since!!! I've been out on the old girl again today, I have four fully working brakes inc handbrake, all lights work now and the horn makes a sound. So I've just got to fill my holes with metal and find a filler neck hose then she'll be ready for the MOT! well less I find anything else in the mean time.
 
Another Commer/Mini man [8D], great taste. I was hoping to do a bit more on mine today but a rumbling from the back of the family hack (no I wasn't taking the mother-in-law home) demanded my attention. Not much fun working on a Ford Focus so I think the job of changing the wheel bearing will be delegated to the local garage [:(!]
 
Heater has been converted to electric now and roof is off in my garage ready for some fibre glass work. I have had some Battery trays made up to sink the main battery and the aux into the floor.
And I have got a new filler neck pipe from Speedy's. All electrical systems are working now so I just got to weld all the holes up and put the roof back on then it could go through MOT so providing the MRS let's me out might be on the road by the end of the summer

Managed a bit more this weekend. I've repaired my pop top and started cutting the rot ready for welding.
 
Oooo I'm getting impatient [:(!], I want to start on mine but I'm determined to finish the Mini first but it's taking so long. By the time I'm done it'll be time to restore it again :I
 
Does look kinda familiar but I'll bet any one who has stripped their camper interior would find something very similar, I did but no pics I'm afraid
 
Mrs let me out for two nights this week so I've managed to get the front and back sections hinged up and mounted to my pop top! pretty pleased with it. I'm going to paint top coat after it's mounted.

Roof back on but it looks like it was out of shape when I bonded the new rear cross piece in as there is a big gap at the back. Which had left me scratching my head a bit with how I am going to get it to fit properly. But at least it'll keep the rain out but not wind!
