Just to let you all know I've purchased a new van, I'm pleased with what I've got after selling my beloved Commer. It's a 2003 Ford Transit(I know it's not a classic), I got it at a really good price and it's going to be a project for me. The vans red, with a great internal layout. I've been out in it for the last 7 nights. The whole of the underneath needs to be sealed and the brake pipes need a really good clean. Can I apply aquasteel to the brake pipes after I've cleaned them? Then give then a good greasing. Pics will follow.
 
Glad you got sorted out:) Inspect the brake pipes very carefully, if it's just surface rust then a clean and Aquasteel is fine - but if there's any deep pitting then they should be replaced.

Thanks everyone, I knew I'd still be welcome;). I'm taking some pics tomorrow. As a family we've already been out in my van three times and haven't had it two weeks yet. I've got a couple of advisories to be getting on with. Slight corrosion on two of the brake pipes(im inspecting them tomorrow ), if they are to bad I'm going to replace them as I don't want to take any risks. The second advisory is slight corrosion on the underbody, luckily I've still got some dinitrol. Can the underpants be sprayed? I'm sure what else must be covered when spraying, brakes, exhaust, shocks, prop shaft etc. I've just been looking in my new Haynes manual and I think there are two grease nipples:)on the prop shaft, might be time to get my old grease gun back out.
 
You can spray your underpants but a washing machine does a better job;)
Probably not a good idea to spray the prop shaft as it might cause balance problems and keep it off the brakes. spray all the underbody after scraping off loose rust and underseal and treating any surface rust with Aquasteel first - but remember you might have to take some of it apart so go easy on fasteners and avoid rubber components like ball joint covers and steering rack gaiters.
