My new ride

This place is turning into quite a knowledge base - it's surprising what turns up when you use that search function:)

Trahh la laaa - Harvey's around here somewhere

wow, the 'viper striper' was in retro car mag years ago (2002?) seeing that started my quest for a commer... didn't it have a volvo engine?

big fan of the yellow quad lights, needs a good colour paint to pull it off though. What are you planning paul?

Plans wise...eeek, it changes everytime i look at the damn thing!

Mainly concentrating on getting her solid first, trying to avoid worrying about colour schemes and little bits and bobs to make it look nice. That is impossible though, so...

Ideas currently floating in my head:
Quad headlights, or maybe a few rallye spots at the bottom

Some sort of custom made commer logo, not a massive fan of the original ones

Space out the front wheels, seems as though some extra clearance can be made, and theres a good inch or so to play with as standard

Lower it, go for about 3 inches, leaves a reasonable amount of clearance to make it driveable still without being annoyingly low.

Custom exhaust, this will be rerouted so it doesnt go below the gearbox, probbaly swap the spare wheel holder to the other side to make this possible.

Series 3 minx rear lights, love those things

A nice stereo install, plan to even have a sub tucked away somewhere!

A new dash, not sure as to what i will use yet, but it definately needs something, perhaps with a nice centre console

The engine cover is going to have a makeover, make it a bit better looking, would like to have a seat there but i fear itll be more hassle than its worth

Anyway, those are floating in my head, but im still a long way off any of that! got a heap of welding to do!

The commer is FINALLY in my workshop, which is a great feeling :)

It would appear whoever tried to 'fix' her before, was totally not up for the job and should probbaly never fabricate again...what a mess, it was better rusty!

Not to worry, i shall cut all that out and crack on making it good :)

I'm so embarrassed by my lack of know how. I trust every single word you speak mate. This will be another stunner i'm sure when finished!

The Bush Pig is golden again thanks to Tamiflu;-)

Comm-don, you have too much faith in me! Im VERY new to all this, it all just seems to be common sense and perserverance with soemthing like this, at least thats what i learnt with the mini.

Admin, thats a tumble drier and i had just rebuilt it for mum :p I doubt i shall be recycling any metal like that for this project!

Right, had a few hours to play with today, so out came the contents of the back :D

Cupboards were soaked at the bottom and rotting, hardboard floor was also soaked, think im gonna dig out the saw and make my own units later on

And a few close ups of the main rot on the floor

A quick clean up with a wire brush on an angle grinder, floor doesnt seem too bad:)

Bit of treatment and a lick of paint should see the majority of the floor sorted :) patching doesnt look too bad for the back, may reveal more nasties once its all cut out though...

The chassis does seem to be in exceptional condition compared to the rest of the body, cant argue with that! Need to get the left side lower side panel off, see whats lurking behind there...

Interior shots without furniture look very familiar but far less rot than Harvey - looks like you've bagged a guddun in that department[^]

First coat on the white stuff, few more to coats to go. Wheels will have a black centre. Getting closer to finishing it :)

Commer hasnt been touched recently :( but once the mini is finished, it shall have lots of time spent on it!

Exhaust looks a bit over the top, hope you used HT paint :I
