My Humber Super Merc

I remember reading on a thread somewhere on here that someone used Mercedes callipers on a Supersnipe, I broke a Mercedes 230e a few years ago and kept the callipers.

The middle one is off the Humber I have tried one of them and it fits perfectly the only mod I will have to do is fit a sleeve in the fixing holes as the bolts on the Merc were slightly bigger.
I have ordered some Pads & retaining pins which will be here tomorrow,

I will have to make up a couple of new pipes, one end will be male metric and the other end will be a female imperial. Should have him back on the road by the weekend.

Hmmm Vented Disc now thats an idea , Better be carefull DVLA might take away the classic status if I carry on putting Mercedes bit on him

It was an old B reg 1984 Merc Jon.

As John was not unavailable today he popped round and we fit the Mercedes Callipers

I had Cleaned them up, gave them a coat of paint, and made up the new pipes ready for today.

When we fitted the calliper's they looked very big!
So I put the wheel on to make sure that it wouldn't catch,
spinning the wheel... it did

The funny thing was it was only one part of the wheel that was catching and only one side.

Thinking back Martin had a similar problem when he fitted the disc brakes on Rosie[!]

So I got the grinder out and John ground a little off the inside of both front wheels and the spare just in case[8D].
Well if it's good enough for Rosie it's good enough for Mr J

We bled the brakes up, fitted the wheels and Mr J now stops better them ever

So the Mercedes Callipers Do fit
