My Humber Super Merc

It all started about 2 years ago I was looking on ebay and I came across one of these :p

It was for sale as spares or repairs, It had no engine and needed quite a bit of work doing.
Hmmmm I thought [?]

Then I came across this

It had a recon engine and a multi-point LPG conversion it also
had a MOT and Taxed this got my brain cell working overtime
what if I bought both of them
Hmmmmm I thought

So I bid on the Black C220 Merc and won it :D

I went to see the Fintail, and it wanted a lot of body work and plenty of welding underneath I did make an
offer for it but the chap wanted more I said I would think about it and left. The bidding went mad on ebay
and it sold for much more than I thought it was worth. :(

So I had a donor car but not a recipient one. [:0]

I spent the next 12 months looking for a nice classic to put the gas conversion and I found this

Having seen the Super Snipe in the flesh I can confirm it is a lovely beast. C'mon then Bernie! Where'e the rest of the tale?

I am not a person, I am a number, 395 actually......Be seeing you!
If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?

My plan is to take the engine & gearbox out of the black Mercedes and put it into the this [8D]

I loosened the nuts, bolts, pipes & wires.

Then I enlisted the help of a friend to help with the heavy parts.

:)Hi Jon we used the existing Mercedes Mounts

DSCN1193_zps3fa35b3b.jpg

But when we did the measuring the engine had to be lifted up a little and moved back so the sump missed the anti roll bar.

we fabricated so mounting brackets out of 40mm boxed steel.

Now the engine out time to clean up the bay and get it ready for the Mercedes Engine & Box.:p
