My Commer all cleaned up and ready to go!

Just thought id put some pics up of the van seen as it was all cleaned up and ready to go! Got some pictures of the sleeping area above the cab as requested!

Fitted a stainless steel exhaust manifold hand fabricated by Tim!! Fits perfect and looks, sounds and performs fantastic!! Thanks allot Tim for your fine craftsmanship and skill!!! Very much appreciated! I had to get the van inside quickly as the snow started so never got any manifold pictures, will get some soon!

Hope you like it!

Looking good! What conversion is it? How tall is the photographer?

That's excellent, I do like this van - it's got so much character[8D]

Lovely van but as an ex fireman I'm not all that sure about the cooker being so close to the woodwork above. Please take extra care when cooking.

An interesting and worthy departure from the Highwayman norm. Could the concern about the proximity of the cooker to the cupboards above be addressed by a heat resistant foil type covering on the underside of the cupboards?

It looks to be a good distance away from the shelf above, light the stove and put your hand under the shelf - if you burn yourself fit a screen;) I'd be more concerned about the window - an aluminium screen behind the stove would fix that.

If it's so hot that it burns your hand then just throw the thing away, it is dangerous, and it is your life you are playing with.

Only winding you up Les[}:)]
I think it's been like that for a while so hopefully it's OK, but no harm in investigating further.

I knew that, but as a retired peofessional fireman I just like to pontificate, wow did I just write that.

Sorry about the late reply, been away for a couple of days!! Thanks for the comments...

Not sure what conversion it is to be honest, i'm pretty sure the raised area above the cab was done in 2001 by a previous owner! Im 6 foot 3 and it was myself taking the pictures, so quite roomy! we usually only use the space up above for storage, but its a great space for sleeping!!

The cookers never caused any harm, and as far as i'm aware its been that was for at least 8 years but i will and do take care when cooking!!

Standard Highwayman, with the front cap lifted and a new skirt fitted above the screen, to fill the gap.
