Just thought i'd post a lil pic of the newly painted and beaded doors and such. Went for solid oak beading. Looks rather nice if i do say so.
The forthcoming Blackpool meet is spuring me on. Hopeing to get her at least on the road for then. If not i'll just have to show up feeling a little sorry for myself and in the car haha.

So got stuck in a little today, After a little more woodwork and bodywork, I decided to soundproof the engine cover and the few bits round it. The stuff i used is similar to the sort used to isolate speakers from doors and such, hopefully will help a little. Looks quite smart too, Well i think anyway.
So heres before, Sanded them back and sprayed them all before i started sticking the stuff on.

And one part way through doing the engine cover.
Also, been starting the van every so often just to make sure she doesn't seize again. And i noticed today the clutch appears to have stopped working, this is a recent development, i press the pedel but nothing happens at all. Just crunches into gear if you move the stick. Just wondered if anyone could put me on the right track to fixing it. Cheers Jonny

probably not the most proffessional advice ever given.....but...if you select a low gear or reverse (depending where any walls are lol) then try and start it (it will kangaroo a little) ..this will usually free the clutch....its best to run the engine first until nice and warm, with the clutch pedal depressed (wedge it with a lengh of timber)....good luck

Leave it running for about 45 minutes and switch off, release the pedal, start the engine again and see if it has released. If it hasn't try being a bit more brutal by engaging 1st gear, hand brake off, clutch down and turn the key and as the engine cranks push the clutch in and out. You'll need plenty of space obviously.
Martin M has released a stuck clutch simply by wedging the pedal down over night, the next morning it was fine If this lot fails then it's a gearbox off job:I

I'll give this a go tomorrow, Also i'll be making an appearance at the blackpool meet. cant wait to have a nosey at everyone else's vans, Think it's going to be an in the car one tho. unless i can can sort this clutch and a few other bits out, sort a quick MOT and drive down just in primer haha. I'm only 5miles if so from the camp site so i've no excuse to not turn up.

Well, i've been on in me jammys and stuck a piece of wood in there. Fingers crossed it'll be fine by tomorrow. I have to be honest there was a part of me that worried you'd tear poor betsy to shreds as shes not much of a looker atm. But will be good to meet some fellow non darksiders. Seems everyone my age (early 20's) are into the VW's.
