Firstly, many thanks to Panky for uploading the photos of the van for me . Im completely hopeless with technology! The van went straight through its m.o.t, without a hitch, and runs as smooth as silk. Although the van is finished on the outside, the next phase will be to revamp the interior. Unfortunately, having spent so long in an open fronted barn ,the woodwork in the back has suffered from sun damage year after year, and has gone very dark in places. Im debating whether to sand everything back and paint the units.
 
I would be a shame to paint over all that lovely wood but if it's unavoidable then go for it. I think you are very well qualified to make that decision;)
 
Dont know about that Panky. Im loath to spoil things, maybe when she has new carpet, seat covers and curtains made it wont look so dull inside. Getting rid of the horrendous orange perspex skylight and repacing it with clear has helped. Ive had to reverse a couple of the overhead locker doors, as the veneer has come off !
 
Hi, I decided to change mine as all the rubbers were perished. I ordered a piece of cast Acrylic from Ipswich plastics and then drew around my old orange piece , then cut the shape with my band saw. It was a bit of a fiddle to fit, but once done , the back of the van is much brighter. :D
 
No, the frame was rock solid and dry as a bone. I guess being in the barn for so long helped no end.
 
The only really bad bit was the heater box which had almost rotted away, the front valance , which was replaced and around the rear step which was a bit weak, so we reinforced it. Other than that she as new.
