Moving a vehicle

I need a bit of advice!

I need to move a dead vehicle from my driveway to my workshop [xx(] - a distance of about 2 miles. Do I need to hire a trailer, or could it be towed using a rigid pole. The vehicle has no tax etc and the brakes do not work. It also does not have any number plates (I do not know the number and have no V5) The tyres are legal and I could rig up a temporary battery so that the lights and indicators work.

Any advice/legal opinion would be gratefully received.

IMU towed vehicle should be currently road legal.

Braked trailer or recovery vehicle are best.

There's even a grey area with small car A frame towing behind a motorcaravan as a holiday runabout!
