I have read some of the threads on what model your van is. Mine is first registered 1966 with 1598cc engine with the start of the chassis number PACA1500. Does this mean mine is a PA 1500 series. If so how do I tell which model.
Ah, just read the first page of the workshop manual (courtesy of Rochdale Library at some point due back in May 1983). Makes sense.
Mine is PA 1500 (not sure which series)
C - 1725cc (why is that different to 1598 on V5?).
A - Automatic - Explains why bloke who sold it said he was confused when doing dashboard as there was a warning regarding starting if not in park.
VH = hinged doors - These are still attached last time I checked.
So how do I know which series it is and why would the engine be different?
Looks like it is a 1500 Series I based on the chassis number and the info in the workshop manual (i.e below 200000). Should start reading this rather than flicking through and looking at the pictures:I Next time I have the seat up I will check the engine size on the plate. The information from the seller was the engine had been replaced by the previous owner but no paperwork so assume maybe it hasn't although it has the overdirve fitted so maybe did both when dropped the auto gearbox. Engine number doesn't help with the size as it doesn't fit with this thread looks like 2 36.
Found some more, but have now realised that this info may be too new for reading the correct data for your vehicle. This seems to be PBs from '67 onwards but not the older vehicles. [V]
