You say not in a bad way! ..a matter of opinion one thinks! maybe the light is shining with an ebb of dark to it............everything we aspired to not be is starting to evovle and for those reasons (Dragons Den aspiration) I'm out!! .........Tigger will get a new MOT and will make someone very happy in the new year...Nothing lasts forever, but hopefully with the care he deserves Tigger will live on for many years yet (after much attention from King of resto Mr M's wonderfull work and my own mechanical genius efforts)

it is sad to see people leaving the forum, but its like any other car club thats gone before it, to be honest, people get on fine for a while, then theres arguments over things said or done etc, people fall out, and then things start to fall apart, its a shame really that it happens, but thats life.i still look in regularly, but just dont bother posting to many pics up after all the stuff that went on earlie this year. i just figured that the least i post up the least that can go wrong or be said etc, that way no one falls out!. but it also has the other side to it, and things start to get quiet on the forum, so its a double edged sword really.anyway enough said and i hope that everyone on here has a fantastic christmas and a happy new year ahead. i will try and start posting up more pics next year of the new pick up truck resto, and any other vans that come through the doors. that should cheer you all up!;):p:D

The forums going to be quiet at this time of year and this last year was a complete wash out anyhow and the forum is only a by product of owning and using a commer. If your not using your commer things dont break or you run into problems and so there's little to talk about. Also as the forum has matured an awful lot of knowledge is already available to read through already, again negating the need to post as often as you can just search and find the answer.

maybe the answer is simple. delete posts made more than say a year ago (apart from our readers rides threads) we would lose some of our ability to look up handy info in seconds but it would reduce the cost of running the forum And it would mean that people would again need to ask/discuss ideas which will allow us to refine the ideas as we go as well sounds drastic but it may just help kick the forum back into life. personally i love this forum and would have been lost without the info and the oppinion's/encouragement of alot of you guys (most of which i havent met, YET) or we could just wait til summer and it will revive itself again as it has the last couple or 3 years ;)

What's with all this doom and gloom. Lets leave that to real life, this is the the world of Commers, a land where life cannot be taken too seriously. What's more, you don't have to own a Commer to be a fan. I belong to forums for the cars I do own and they are very useful and informative, but they do not compare with this one.

Not actually owning a Commer, I have only met a few of you, but I feel comfortable contributing to the forum. People are not judgemental or dismissive if you lack technical knowledge, but are genuinely keen to assist one another. Yes there will be the occasional grumpy sod or minor disagreement (often arising from a misunderstanding), but it should not get in the way.

We have all discovered Commers somehow, some of us having fond childhood memories, others having only just discovered them and we may all have different ideas about how they should be used. Some wish to keep them original, others to put V8's in them. There is no right or wrong, it really doesn't matter, just enjoy the Commeradery! :)

Lets all look forward to 2013 and I might even get round to writing part 3 of A Wanderer in Europe. :D

Hello all and Merry Christmas!

I haven't been on here for ages due to a multitude of reasons that I won't bore you with, and posted infrequently anyway (my knowledge of mechanics extends to "put fuel in and press right foot down). Despite that I've always felt welcome and always known that if I needed any help, that the forum would offer any advice they could, even though I'm only a 'lurker'. But there does seem to be a bit of negativity going around....

I for one love the forum. 99.9% of the time a friendly, and very helpful bunch of people with a common love of Commers. What more could you want?

Thanks as always to admin for making it available and to everyone else who makes it a place you can drop into regularly, or infrequently, and still get a friendly welcome.

Hope you all have a lovely Christmas and that the New Year brings a bit of sunshine.
