my pair did a great team job today - ended up with a big fat rat! one dug in the compost heap, the other waited for mr rat to pop out - then he went bite bite bite and it was all over.......... except then floyd rubbed himself all over it

Turns out Fergus is actually 6 1/2 months old ...he is a bit underweight....he has mild kennel cough, an ear infection and as you can see in the pics has sore front legs probably by a previous bout of fleas, making him scratch and chew......he has had no jabs as yet.....he has to go back on friday and hopefully will be well enough to have his 1st jab...we have to keep Finnley in untill fergus has had all his jabs...

We will be reporting the ''rescue center'' to the local authority and the RSPCA ....apparently they were raided and closed down in 2007 as a puppy farm then reopened as a rescue center, the general feeling is that they are now advertising as a rescue center but actually buying puppies in and simply selling them on without proper health checks or vaccinations...think I said before, in the hour we were there 4 puppies went out at £250 a go!!! they did not ask us for any I.D. or anything! ...

On a good note Fergus is settling in fine and started to look a lot happier and not so frightened of everything....:D

Glad Fergus is ok.
We got all our dogs from a rescue centre in Watford and had to jump through hoops to get them! The centre insisted on us visiting the dogs at least 5 times to ensure we really wanted them and we had a home inspection to make sure we had a good secure garden to keep them in, all there dogs were inoculated, wormed, spayed or neutered....they offered to do me while we there! I was`nt too keen but the wife was all for it:D
I hope the place Fergus came from gets a visit and shut down but sadly they will just open again using a different name and continue to sell unhealthy and uncared for animals.

Thanks Deb:) we just feel a bit sick that we donated our money to help them run their shamefull business ...He is improving by the day :D

I would be inclined to demand your money back as it was obtained under false pretences. If they don't like it, go public and bring in trading standards.

Are they registered as a charity? If so, the Charities Commission may be interested. They will give the (much needed) honest rescue centres a bad name.

We think our looey was from a puppy farm, as the bloke selling him wanted to meet on the local m-way services as he was in the area.
Looey`s also scared of noises and some times wakes up funny and barks at lights and also his tail was broken sometime and is now hooked at the end. Should ban all these places.

We are chipping away at getting approppiate evidence to try and get this place shut down![:(!]

Unfortunately these places will continue to breed dogs & get away with it hindered imo because of the hoops you have to jump through to get one from a rescue.(we too are guilty of purchasing George)only they did seem very well looked after, even had a tread mill for his Dad :I

I have already reported to trading standards and RSPCA, next step is consumer direct and Wiltshire council!

Trading standards have said, to write a statement of everything that happened Saturday, from viewing the ad to taking puppy home.

As for getting money back, don't think there is any chance of that, and certainly won't be sending him back

I would`nt try to get my money back and would be happy knowing that Fergus has truly been "rescued" and gone to a good loving home. I would cause as many problems as possible for the sellers though;)

You know who you need to get involved in this:

Watchdog

Sounds like it's just up their alley.

hehehehe (the giggling is for the pun only).
