Master brake cylinder repair

Yes easy, just remember how everything fits, in order and in the correct way round. After reassembly it would be advisable to prime the cylinder gently, depressing the brake pedal 'gently' until fluid is introduced into the master cylinder. Then bleed the system. :D

After ordering and recieving the parts I found that the cylinder on our 1978 dodge is different to the commer and does not come apart. Any ideas?

The cylinders on my Dodges are virtually the same. There are 2 different types, but both come apart. The seals and pistons are not the same [?]

Martin's right, it looks like it doesn't come apart, but there's a circlip round the top where the piston moves back and forth. You might need to clean the crap off the cyinder top and ram a screwdriver through the small hole in the back and give it a few taps to push the piston out. Vice and mallet probably needed!
