Maintenance, maintenance....

Plea for help..... Trying to get my steering rod straightened but cant get the flamin thing off the van!!

Got the wheel end off but cant get the other bolt to unstick itself. [V] Anyone know any tricks for getting a siezed bolt out??

I even tried - after 4 hours of effort - resting the end of the bolt on the axle stands and lowering the weight of the van onto it....didnt budge in the slightest??

I have hit it so much with a hammer that it is starting to flower. Pretty sure replacement parts dont exist so please help before i take the grinder to it!!!!!!!!!![xx(]

if soaking it in penetrating oil for an hour or so doesn't help then if somewhere it'll take it ok - heat it with a blowtorch. Hopefully head still in good enough nick to move it - good luck

i assume you are trying to split a ball joint [?] in which case don,t hit the end, use two hammers at once and hit the sides, this usually works when all else fails ;)

"you were only supposed to blow the bloody SLIDING doors off"

The blowtorch worked!!!! got another problem now though.....

fingers crossed there should be a picture above this sentence....Youre probably thinking the same as me....how the heck did that get like that???

Good news is i managed to get it straightened now and its all back on the van after grinding and filing the bolt beyond recognition.

Just got to figure out why its turning over but not catching and then IM READY TO GO !!!! Excitement may be about to make me do an all nighter.

that would explain the rather 'unique' handling characteristics!!! Like riding a jelly on top of a large rollerskate with no connection in between!!! Just managed to get her going and had my first drive...erm....wow!!

Loved it though.:)
