Mains hook up

Could anyone give me a bit of guidance on wiring up a Commer with hook-up please?

Also, a photo of the hook up external socket would be very helpful?

well Ran had more complex system,in her rear corner tiny cupboard she has an electric box!power on etc,...hookup pulled out from under the van,below that rear corner.On Sybhil she just has the 2 or 3? double sockets (one at the back (ideal for use with an awning)1 at the bottom of one or both back seats!
This was all removed from no.1 as original I believe I find Sybhils best for ease of use Ran's was all hidden took me a few weeks to find)& had the power off etc nice & safe if you have young children.you could also go more complex & have zig unit my type 25 had one of those but couldn't explain how that works :I
worth mentioning some site won't let you use the old style leads(health & safety)mines old style need to get a new one at some point

Thanks dear. Need to buy a few electrical bits and scratch my head and have a think...

The position of your power points sound good though.

I know I keep asking silly questions... but where is the best or usual place to locate your external hook up socket? And also the best place to site the fuse box??
 
I don't think you have to have a fuse box,.no 1 had exactly what Sybhil has now just cut out a hole on the van as in previous pic mount the exterior connector for the hook up lead,on the inside of the van you run your cables to power sockets from the exterior connector so you can put them any where convenient for you,your plugs will be fused.I suppose Sybhil s is the most basic set up,all where you would normally find on an auto sleeper,you could just buy a hook up lead with socket attachment for use in an awning or tent.It depends how much you want to complicate things,there are so many different ways to do it.you could probably do it with out cutting a hole.perhaps people could show us more pic's of theirs,or put it on hold come to the birthday bash & have a look at other vans before deciding.

I've bought a camper/caravan MCB board from ebay (bargain £8) and an external socket. The external connector socket runs the power to the MCB which then distributes the power (via fused switches) to your sockets.... This will then 'trip out' should you have any poor earth connections etc.

I am happy to cut a hole in the bodywork it and fit socket... will probably go for an area near the back passenger side cupboard, will site the MCB box there too.
 
Right my hook-up is all installed, well nearly...

The MCB unit has a earth cable coming from it... do I just earth this to the body work?? 240v though??? Any body know??
