Locally the dizzy has worked really well and equally, going over the M62, it went like a dream. No miss firing at all. Stopped in Sale, with the engine running for about 5 mins, to ask directions and that was it [xx(] Wouldn't pull, backfiring etc ect.
I presumed it had overheated, so let it cool for an hour. Set off back, exactly the same [V] Stopped, took the carb and fuel pump apart, still did the same thing.
Last resort, took the new dizzy off and put the old one back on. Partial result. Now ran smoothly, without miss firing. Only problem now, it seemed to have a lack of fuel. It would run fine up to about 40mph, but try and excellerate and it would misfire.
So, drove all the way back over the M62, on a light throttle. Down to 25mph on the big hills [V]
Conclusion- Don't know yet. Swapping the dizzy back did make it run smoother, but obviously there is a fuel problem as well.
Watch this space and I'll let you know what I find [8)]
[:0]Did you get it sorted? [:0][xx(]
