Ummm well LuLu baring in mind I'm yet to embark on a commited relationship with a commer, where I'm sure yourself has been in a long term committed marriage to one or more (harem) of these machines. So I'm sure as stated you understand these things better than I currently do. I'm sure as my relationship develops I will begin to understand the complex aspects of the relationship as you do. At my present my assumption is based purely on a visual aspect.

Panky you've already nigh on destroyed my marriage to Mrs Hubbell by pointing me in the direction of Gary. Needless to say I've struck a deal with Gary already this morning but now the only hurdle to jump is to convince Mrs Hubbell that this is not a form of madness but instead a sound investment....

Please don't point me in the way of any more commers mint or otherwise as I simply have to make a decision and stick with it now. Anyway Gary's commer is way out of my price range previously agreed with Mrs Hubbell so any increase will certainly end in tears (and divorce). Hubbell.

Unfortunately it is a form of madness and I'm that monkey on your back[}:)]

Hubbell,

That Dormobile is a rare Commer these days and - in my eyes at least - well worth spending a bit more in order to get hold of. You won't find many other Commer vans on this forum with the side door to start with, let alone that gorgeous Dormobile roof with skylights and vents.

I don't know whether it still has the original interior or not, but there will be alternatives anyway.

Not sure how much work is needed on the body. A desirable camper it should be nevertheless. And a special one too.

Good luck with persuading your missus. I very nearly had a serious crisis with my missus when I went ahead and bought our Bluebird Highwayman back in 2008 ... admittedly after we "sort of" agreed not to buy it. Ouch [B)]
So I know that these situations are not to be underestimated.

Good luck in any case! :)

Am I being a bit stupid because I can't see any problem. Just go out and buy the van, take it home and move into it. I've heard that divorces can be pretty expensive but at least you'll have the lovely van. Problem solved.Just put your foot down and show her who's boss in your house or van .[)][)][)]

Yeah that's all well and good but these vans are only good for fine weather otherwise you leave them out in the rain for two days straight and they disintegrate into the ground and as a result I'll be left homeless with nothing but a pile of rusty panels and rotten components. So based I that rather dreary scenario, I think it's a safer bet to keep Mrs Hubbell on board and try and keep an slate roof over my head as opposed to a decaying pop top.

Ah, my bill has finally been passed[8D]
Swampsters van has served Gary and Jackie well for years and has recently had a big make-over, I'm sure you'll be delighted with it[^] There is one condition though - you must attend some meets to make G&J all dewy eyed;)
